Accessibility features of the web version of this resource
The web version of this resource has been designed with accessibility in mind by incorporating the following features:
Organization of content
- Section headings and subheadings are formatted with paragraph styles to ensure screen reader compatibility.
- Sections appear in sequential order and are reflected in the corresponding Table of Contents
- List structures (numbered and unnumbered) are used
Font size and formatting
- Font size is 12 point or higher for body text
- Font size is 9 point or higher for footnotes, endnotes, and table captions
- Font size can be enlarged by 200 per cent in webbook or ebook formats without needing to scroll side to side.
- Font choices are informed by accessibility, with consideration given to line weight and letter spacing to ensure readability.
- Font color and background color provide adequate contrast for readability.
- No known repeated characters or excessive spaces
Visual and multimedia elements
- All non-decorative images contain alternative text
- Charts, graphs, and math equations contain alternative text or include a complete written description
- Visuals do not rely on color alone to convey meaning
- Video and audio files provide captions and/or transcripts, as well as a brief description of the item’s content and purpose
- Tables include row and column headers, adequate cell padding, and contain no merged or split cells.
Hyperlinks
- Hyperlink text describes the destination of the link and opens in the same window.
- If a link will open or download a file (like a PDF or Excel file), a textual reference is included in the link information (e.g., [PDF]).
- Link text is underlined, and the full web addresses for all links are available in the back matter of the book for those using a print copy.

In addition to the web version, other formats are available for download from the book homepage. Look for the “Download this book” drop-down menu to select the file type you want. Available file formats include:
