Book Description

This research methods textbooks walks students through the process of creating a scientific research question, reviewing the scientific literature, designing and implementing quantitative and qualitative research study, and sharing results to diverse stakeholders. The textbook centers critical information literacy and discusses research as a human right necessary to guarantee and expand all other human rights. Furthermore, it teaches students to match their research question with the assumptions and methods of the appropriate research paradigm, and to reflect on their positionality and cultural respectfulness across all social scientific endeavors. Students will reflect on their roles as scientific communicators to clients and communities as well as consumers of scientific information for evidence-based practice and professional development throughout their career.
